This selection is the culmination of a decade of careful hybrizing and rigorous seedling selection. They are contemporary hybrids of a particularly hardy strain of Opuntia aurea (zone 4). These selections are virtually spineless and often rebloom throughout the summer here in Denver, CO where we are located. The handsome pads have various shades of color that change between summer and winter, making them uniquely attractive even during the winter months. Flowers for this selection are all double, extra large and highly attractive to bees and other pollinators.
